About Zoom

Zoom Entertainments was formed in Hull, England in 2001 by Joe Blackie. The company was established to produce karaoke versions of hard to find songs that were not available in a karaoke format. This idea was born from Joe‘s inability to find the songs he loved on karaoke and deciding to professionally produce them himself. Joe was able to come by an inexpensive CD+G authoring programme that would allow him to take his own music and turn it into a karaoke version. His first product was Zoom Karaoke Hits 1 released in November 2001.

In 2002, Richard and Chris Harfield partnered with Joe and the company became Zoom Entertainments Limited. The karaoke songs and discs were authored in Hull while the music store owned by the brothers in Bolton became the place where the Zoom products were stored and shipped to customers. The Zoom Launchpack was produced in order for Zoom Entertainments to establish itself in the market. The product was a huge success and helped expand Zoom Entertainments into a karaoke backing track market leader.

In 2008, Zoom relocated to a brand new warehouse in Hull and for the first time the entire company‘s business was contained in one building, making it easier and faster to ship products to customers around the world. This also enabled Joe to maintain the high level of quality associated with Zoom‘s products, using as many live instruments as possible.

Zoom continues to produce new karaoke tracks and the catalogue now stands at around 3200 songs. Zoom tracks have been used in TV shows and films worldwide and continues to be the best choice for professional singers.
